Calcium hypochlorite
Property
White or offwhite powder, granule powder or granule solid, with a strong irritative odor.
Its main component is calcium hypochlorite. It may release a great deal of heat and
primary ecological oxygen when solved in water. Its heating and sharp decomposition
may cause explosion, its action with acid may release chloride, its reaction with organic
and oils may cause burning, and it tends to decompose and explode at high temperature. When stored at normal temperature, it doesn’t decompose, with the effective chloride
loss not more than 10% for sodium method and 5% for calcium method.
Applications
A high-efficiency bleacher and disinfectant.
It can be used for bleaching cotton and hemp textiles, chemical fiber, paper pulp and
amylum. It is also used in industrial wastewater treatment, sanitation & epidemic
